My Car Saga, Part 1,003,234
There is a small auto shop my family takes our out of warranty cars to. The man who runs it is a very nice Italian guy. After finding out that the problem last night was not my battery but was merely the terminal that connects to my battery, and that the problem was actually that said terminal was loose, I decided to run my car over to our Italian Auto Shop. I needed an oil change anyway.

On my way home last night I noticed a new sound. A metal on metal rattle. So when I took it Italian Auto Shop, I asked if they could check out the noise. Well, it seems the rubber bumper that catches the hood and keeps it from clanking against the metal frame of the car was missing on the driver's side. It is just a small little piece of rubber, but when I hit a bump it goes, "clank, clank" without it. But while they were at it, they noticed THREE other rattles! My steprails are loose, a bolt in the wheel well is loose and my spare tire which resides under my car near my rear bumper was loose because it has lost air. Wow! My car is just trying to shake itself apart! So they are tightening everything. None of it was serious, but I bet my car will be quieter after all this.

I want to reiterate how wonderful this car has been though. In 4 years, it has had only two problems. The window regulators (in all four windows) broke but this wound up being a recall, and the AC line froze up--Just a day after my warranty expired!! But they still covered it for me.

All in all, I can't complain at all about this car. It has been wonderful. But the last month has really sucked.

Oh well. It will be all healthy and happy for our drive down to Galveston tonight!

Happy Happy Thoughts 27
In 36 hours, I will be sailing across the Gulf of Mexico! I will be drinking a Pina Colada or some other fruity, yet intoxicating drink, and I will not be allowed to think about car wrecks, car batteries, sick grandmothers, business, my house, astronomical electric bills, social schedules, volleyball, gas prices, or any other mind blurring activities.

I will only be allowed to think about pina coladas, sun tanning, snorkeling, FOOD...lots of food, the glutinous intake of said food, reggae, and general all out, full steam ahead partying!

Ahhh....
